Vantrue N2 vs N2 Pro vs T2 Review

In this day and age, you never can be too careful when it comes to protecting yourself and your property. Not only does this apply when at home, but also when you’re out in the car as well. But thankfully, with the introduction of the dashboard camera, at least some of that worry can be dispersed.

Vantrue is a company that was founded in 2015 whose aim was to develop and produce high-end dash cams (as well as other video related products) for the general public. Since then, it has succeeded phenomenally with a number of successful achievements to date. This includes having their products tested, reviewed and rated by some big influential names, including the likes of PCWorld, Forbes, and the Business Insider.

And here, we review three of their top-selling dash cams.

Vantrue N2 Dash Cam

Vantrue N2

Released in April 2016, the Vantrue N2 was thecompany’sfirst dual dash cam.It offers a 1080p resolution when recordingout front of the vehicle, and 720p for thatin the cabin. And being equipped with premium F/2.0 6-glass lenses, you get a near-360 degree view with excellent clarity.

Knowing what’s going on inside the vehicle is just as important as what’s happening outside it. And that’s where the dual lens come in handy. For example, if a thief manages to avoid the camera capturing the outside, they’re not going to avoid it inside.

In terms of dimensions, the N2 measures in at 1.6” x 3.9” x 1.5”, and weighs just 3.68oz, so can easily be mounted without the worry it’s too heavy to stay put. It’s also a very classy looking piece of kit that will complement a vehicle opposed to make it look like an eyesore.

Another great feature this innovative dash cam has to offer is aG-sensor and Emergency lock function which begins recording upon impact and saves this footage to an event folder for easy access if needed for legal purposes. In addition to that it has a parking mode feature that starts automatically whenever any motion is detected within a close proximity of the vehicle

Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dual Dash Cam

Vantrue N2 Pro

Released July 2017, just over 1 year after the N2, the N2 Pro Uber still offers the same great style and functionality as that of its predecessor, but with a few extra bells and whistles thrown in. The first thing to note is that it’s still equipped with the same dual lens feature, but this time, with an upgraded camera resolution to that of inside the cabin. Now, both inside and out you have a resolution of 1080p to give you the clearest of views.

It’s also a little bigger in size than the N2, measuring in at 1.65” x 3.94” x 1.54”.But then with a better camera, that’s kind of too be expected.

Another upgrade you get with the N2 Pro is it’s equipped with Sony Sensor Infrared Night Vision which ensures you and your belongings are safe in the dark as well as the light. There’s also a built-in microphone and speaker which can be used to capture any verbal altercations.

The N2 Pro has loop recording with same G-sensor and Emergency Lock function found in the N2 which stores the content to memory as soon as a collision is detected. And it also features the same fantastic Parking Mode function.

And as It also features a time lapse functionality that will help to save memory, and of course, a date and time stamp facility.

Vantrue T2 Dash Cam

Vantrue T2

Released in August 2018 and, the Vantrue T2 dash cam is one of the company’s latest successes.

It’s equipped with a camera that has a resolution of, while offering a 160-degree wide angled view. In terms of size, the T2 measures in at 4.1” x 1.8” x 1.5”, meaning it’s quite a bit larger than the other two models. However, that’s probably due the upgraded 2” display. Both the N2 and N2 Pro feature just a 1.5” display.

Being fitted with microwave detection parking mode technology is quite possibly the T2s biggest selling point. While you’ll find the Parking Mode function on most Vantrue dash cams, this one is a little different. The T2 features what’s called the Wave Guard Parking Mode as is utilizes the Wave Guard Indicator. And what this does, is it uses microwaves to detect motion outside the car and starts recording immediately.

Another great feature the T2 has to offer is it’s equipped with Super Night Vision capabilities thanks to the F1.8 6-layer optical glass lens. And it has the samecontinuous loop recording and G-sensor that can be seen in the previousVantrue dash cams.

There’s also an auto LCD shutoff function that turns off the screen when recording starts, as to not distract the driver at all.

Recommendation

If you’re simply looking for a good quality dash cam that’s reliable and will help keep a close eye on things, the Vantrue N2 is a perfectly good model to choose. It may be the first of the three to be released, but in terms of quality (and price) it’s well worth the money.

The T2 is very similar to the N2 in terms of price and in terms of function, but with a couple of added extras. There’s the upgraded Parking Mode function and the enhanced Night Vision functionality. And, it has a bigger screen.

However, if you’re looking for a top-spec model that has offers clarity, protection, and a whole load of features and functions to use to your heart’s content, the Vantrue N2 Pro Uber Dash Cam is the best match for you. It may be a little more in price than the other two, but in terms of functionality, it simply can’t be beat.
